The Firm Advises T-Systems (A Leading ICT Service Provider – Deutsche Telekom’s Corporate Customer Arm)Tuesday, November 30th, 2010
Borislav Boyanov & Co. provides support and advice to T-Systems on its tender for the outsourcing of the IT services of the subsidiary of one of the largest energy providers in Bulgaria. This multi-jurisdictional project involves also the transfer of a large number of employees in 10 European jurisdictions (including Bulgaria) by operation of law as a result of the Acquired Rights Directive. Currently, T-Systems has been officially selected as winner for part of the IT services (Lot 3). The firm’s team was led by senior associate Violeta Kirova.
Mr. Borislav Boyanov has chaired the Sixth Edition of the Balkan Legal Forum held in Sofia on November 11-12, 2010, which passed with great success. The event attracted a total of 180 delegates from 26 countries, including participants from Europe, America, Middle East and Asia.
The main theme to the conference was “South East Europe – Reviving Opportunities” and some of the main topics included economic environment in the CEE region and the regional approach to companies in economic difficulty; the role of the regulators; inter-bank relations; recent developments in R&I law in the CEE; law firm management.
As always, the Forum enjoyed wide support from representatives of both the legal profession and the business. It was officially opened by the Forum Chair, Mr. Borislav Boyanov and the Chair of the IBA Legal Practice Division, Dr. Hendrik Haag. Congratulatory addresses were received from the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, H.E. Boyko Borisov, the President of the 41st National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria, H.E. Tsetska Tsacheva and the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Bulgaria, H.E. Margarita Popova.

On November 11, 2010 the Bulgarian competition authority adopted a position on a much discussed question, related to unfair competition law restrictions in respect of free goods or services, offered as a rebate for higher volume purchases. The attached note (in English and Bulgarian) discusses briefly the decision and its immediate implications.
