Borislav Boyanov & Co. is delighted to announce that Mrs. Raina Dimitrova, commercial and customs law specialist and Mr. Alexander Chatalbashev, insurance law specialist wеre promoted as partners in the law firm.
Mrs. Raina Dimitrova is a member of the Sofia Bar Association since 1999, the International Bar Association as well as Honorary Member in the Association of Fellows and Legal Scholars of the Center for International Legal Studies. She is a graduate of the Law Faculty at Sofia University (LLM). Prior to joining Borislav Boyanov & Co. she worked as a Chief General Counsel of the Ministry of Trade (1992-1998) and as a trainee at the European Commission – DG XVIII – “Credit and Investments” (1995) and USIA – “U.S. Trade Policies and WTO” (1996).
Mr. Chatalbashev is a member of the Sofia Bar Association since 1995, the International Bar Association as well as Honorary Member in the Association of Fellows and Legal Scholars of the Center for International Legal Studies. He graduated from the Law Faculty of Sofia University (LLM) and has attended Universidad Nacional de Educacion a Distancia – Madrid, Spain, Law Faculty, Specialization in Commercial Law – Letters of Credit (1995) and the Academy of American and International Law, Dallas, USA (2000).
The Central and Eastern European Law Offices (CELO) Corporate and M&A Practice Group met on November 25 and 26 in Bratislava. The participants discussed issues related to the European Company (Societas Europaea) including the national regulatory framework, taxation and employees’ involvement aspects as well as the implementation of the Takeover Bids Directive (EC Directive 2004/25/EC) in the national legislations of the CELO members, the question of the golden shares and the employees’ information and consultation rights in the context of the Directive. On the next day the Managing Partners and Partners of the CELO member companies had their regular meeting during which the closing of the year 2004 and the joint projects and forms of cooperation in 2005 were discussed.

The Government Approved the Privatisation Agreement for the Sale of the West Bulgaria Pool of Electricity Distribution CompaniesThursday, November 11th, 2004
On November 11, 2004 the Government granted its approval of the privatization agreement with CEZ a.s. (Czech Republic) for the sale of 67% stakes in the three electricity distribution companies grouped in the West Bulgaria pool. The successful bidder offered €281.5 mln. for the 67% stakes in the Sofia, Sofia District and Pleven distribution companies. Borislav Boyanov & Co. advised the Bulgarian government on the deal as part of an international advisory consortium led by BNP Paribas.
